Job summary

GRAIL is seeking a Manager of Biorepository Operations to lead on‑site and off‑site specimen management at our Durham, NC office. The role ensures regulatory compliance, operational excellence, and alignment with company goals, overseeing approximately 1 million samples.

The successful candidate will manage cross‑functional teams and external storage vendors, ensuring traceability, quality, and CAP accreditation readiness while maintaining robust SOPs and inventory control.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a science‑related field; Master’s preferred.
• 8+ years of laboratory or biorepository experience, with 3–5 years in supervision.
• Experience managing large‑scale biorepository operations and inventories.
• Strong knowledge of biorepository best practices, cold chain management, and chain‑of‑custody processes.
• Experience with CAP Biorepository Accreditation Program requirements and readiness.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily biorepository operations including receipt, processing, storage, retrieval, and disposal.
• Manage inventory for ~1 million specimens across on‑site and off‑site locations.
• Oversee relationships with domestic and international third‑party storage vendors.
• Ensure chain‑of‑custody documentation and specimen traceability.
• Lead biorepository staff with performance management and development.
• Maintain standalone biorepository inventory software and workflows.
