Mechanics Bank is seeking a Customer Service Representative to join our team on-site. You will process teller transactions, service customers in person and over the phone, handle cash securely, and assist with branch audits and compliance tasks.

The role requires a High School degree or GED and at least 1 year in banking with knowledge of deposit products, plus 1 year in customer service and cash handling. Strong interpersonal skills and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• High School Degree or GED required.
• Minimum of 1 year experience in a banking environment with basic knowledge of bank deposit products and services preferred.
• 1 year in customer service and cash handling experience in a customer facing role required.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and customer service.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively as a team member.
• Knowledge of applicable Bank policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine teller transactions and works directly with clients, including deposits, withdrawals, checks, payments, transfers, and mail/night drop items.
• Provides exemplary customer service in person and over the phone, explains features, rates, fees, and services, and educates customers on banking technology.
• Maintains cash supply, balances cash at end of each shift, and adheres to cash handling policies and security procedures.
• Gathers data and processes reports to ensure compliance with Bank policies and regulatory programs; assists with branch audits.
