Job summary

Danfoss GmbH in Tallahassee, FL is seeking an Automation Engineer to design, develop, and maintain software that controls test rigs, automates validation tests, and turns data into actionable insights. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Thermal/Energy Engineering, Computer Science, or related field with 3 years of relevant experience (or Master/PhD with project/industry experience).
• Strong understanding of thermodynamics, heat transfer, fluid mechanics, or thermal systems; able to interpret refrigeration cycles and performance calculations.
• Proven experience developing software in C++, ideally in a Linux environment.
• Working proficiency in C# for application development and GUIs.
• Hands-on experience with laboratory equipment, sensors, instrumentation, and data acquisition systems.

Responsibilities

• Develop and enhance C++ Linux backend applications and C# user interfaces that control test systems and automate testing.
• Integrate thermodynamic/energy calculations into software for validation and performance analysis.
• Configure and optimize data acquisition systems, sensors, and instrumentation for measurements.
• Collaborate with test engineers to translate testing requirements into automated software workflows.
• Build expertise in PLC platforms, communication protocols, SQL databases, and tools like TI A Portal and LabVIEW.
