Job summary

RQ Construction is seeking an Assistant Project Manager (APM) to join our Field Operations team for work in Norfolk, Virginia on an active military base. The role supports construction projects from preconstruction through closeout, assisting with coordination, scheduling, documentation, budgeting and on-site execution.

Based on project scope, you may work with a Project Manager on large-scale projects, or independently manage smaller phases.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or related field; equivalent combinations may be considered
• Minimum of one year of experience in a Project Engineer position
• Four+ years in construction, project management, or related industry preferred
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Outlook, and internet-based applications
• Experience with Primavera P3/P6, Viewpoint, BIM or Revit preferred
• CPR, First Aid, and OSHA 30 certifications required; training may be available
• LEED Green Associate and QCM certifications are a plus

Responsibilities

• Support projects from preconstruction through closeout
• Assist with project coordination, scheduling, documentation, budgeting, and on-site execution
• Coordinate with Project Manager on large-scale projects or manage smaller phases
• Relocate to active project sites to support on-site management
