Job summary

Cupertino Electric, Inc. (CEI) is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to support complex projects in the Greater San Francisco Bay Area.

This on-site role involves coordinating with field teams, project staff, vendors, and customers, and guiding Project Engineers and Coordinators under the Project Manager's leadership. The right candidate will have 3+ years in electrical/MEP projects and 5+ years of related experience, with strong MS Excel, scheduling, and estimating skills.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Business, Engineering, or similar preferred.
• Three (3) or more years of experience specifically as a Project Engineer in electrical construction, or MEP experience in general contracting.
• Minimum five (5)+ years of related experience, including some time managing smaller projects.
• Valid state-issued driver's license and satisfactory driving record.
• Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States. This position is not eligible for sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Lead team meetings and provide guidance to Project Engineers and Project Coordinators in partnership with the Project Manager and field team.
• Partners with scheduling department to gather data required to populate CEI schedule.
• Identifies cost impacts associated with RFIs, submittals, and design changes and provides timely notification.
• Prices change orders consistently and in a timely manner for project manager review and approval.
• Manages close out documents.
• Coordinate commissioning activities w/ 3rd party. Tracks and follows up on open items.
• Maintain strong working partnerships with vendors and subcontractors. Coordinates accurate material releases on time and consistent with project documents. Track material releases, changes and coordinate delivery with construction schedule.
