Job summary

VetJobs is seeking a Material Coordinator for an on-site role at Fort Riley, KS. You will manage movement, accountability, and documentation of Army equipment at a contractor-managed turn-in site, coordinating with Army units, warehouse staff, and transportation to ensure compliant turn-ins and timely data entry.

The position requires 3–5 years in logistics or materiel management, Army documentation familiarity, and CAC eligibility.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; college degree preferred.
• 3–5 years of logistics, supply, or materiel management experience.
• Prior Army or contractor experience in equipment turn-in or supply support strongly preferred.
• Army supply regulations AR 710-2, AR 735-5, DA PAM 710-2-1.
• Ability to read, interpret, and process Army supply documentation.
• Must be able to obtain CAC and pass background and drug tests.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
• Must travel up to 25% of the time.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the receipt, staging, and movement of equipment turned in by Army units.
• Ensure proper sequencing and prioritization of items for inspection, accountability, and storage.
• Track status of turn-ins from initial receipt through final disposition.
• Support high-volume, mass turn-in operations by managing workflow and resource allocation.
• Review and validate supply documents such as DA Form 1348-1A, DD Form 200, hand receipts, and condition codes.
• Ensure timely and accurate data entry into Army systems such as GCSS-Army, DPAS, or LMP.
• Maintain logs, spreadsheets, and reports for daily, weekly, and monthly activity.
• Support audit readiness by maintaining accurate and compliant material records.
• Coordinate with warehouse staff for storage, location management, and retrieval of equipment.
• Ensure proper tagging, labeling, and segregation of serviceable, unserviceable, and HAZMAT items.
• Monitor availability and safe use of material handling equipment (MHE).
• Work with transportation staff to schedule and track incoming and outgoing shipments.
• Prepare cargo movement requests, shipping documentation, and load plans in accordance with Army and DTR standards.
• Ensure accountability during loading, movement, and offloading of equipment.
• Assist unit supply personnel during turn-in to resolve documentation discrepancies.
• Serve as a liaison between contractor site staff, Army units, and the COR.
• Provide responsive customer service to supported units while maintaining compliance.
