Flowserve is seeking a hands-on On-Site Applications Engineer for the Louisiana chemical and refining accounts. You will bridge field diagnostics and engineering solutions, performing teardowns, failure analyses, and plant-level upgrades as the technical anchor on site.

Ideal candidates include new graduates or experienced rotating equipment professionals; training and a direct SME career track are provided. On-site role with travel to customer facilities and required site access credentials.

Qualifications

• Foundational or deep understanding of rotating equipment dynamics, fluid systems, mechanical seals, and industrial pumps.
• Willingness to travel to customer sites and secure required site badges (TWIC, etc.).
• In-plant or process-driven experience is valued; training provided for entry-levels.

Responsabilités

• Root-Cause Field Engineering: dismantle, clean, and inspect mechanical seal systems (DCI).
• Reliability reporting: perform failure analyses and prepare data-driven reports for plant leadership.
• Cross-functional liaison: serve as on-site technical anchor to Flowserve teams and customers.
• System standardization: direct plant seal standardization plans and address hardware variance.
• Bad Actor tracking: lead monthly reviews to reduce chronic failures and protect assets.
• Inventory optimization: monitor and optimize client parts and tooling stores.

Flowserve is seeking a hands-on, technically driven On-Site Applications Engineer to act as a dedicated reliability field resource for our contracted primary chemical and refining accounts in the Louisiana region.Backed by a dedicated commercial sales engineer handling the account management, you will focus entirely on technical authority, execution, and plant uptime. You will spend your days bridging the gap between field diagnostics and engineering solutions—performing teardowns, executing failure analysis, and identifying upgrades directly at the plant level. Whether you are a recent engineering graduate looking for elite training or a tenured rotating equipment professional seeking a dedicated Subject Matter Expert track, this seat provides direct visibility over the entire equipment lifecycle. Our Application Engineers successfully accelerate into diverse long-term career paths across Flowserve, including technical Subject Matter Expert tracks, people management, or strategic commercial sales engineering.Core ResponsibilitiesRoot-Cause Field Engineering: Meticulously dismantle, clean, and inspect (DCI) mechanical seal systems.Reliability Action Reporting: Conduct comprehensive failure analyses and compile data-driven product performance reports to justify equipment modifications or replacements to plant leadership.Cross-Functional Liaison: Serve as the on-site technical anchor, connecting the customer's operations directly with Flowserve’s internal reliability engineers, customer service, and manufacturing assets.System Standardization: Direct and manage the plant's mechanical seal standardization plan, tracking customer quality specs and resolving hardware variance.Bad Actor Tracking: Lead monthly \"Bad Actor\" review meetings with customer engineers to track chronic equipment failures and implement preventative multi-million dollar asset protections.Inventory Optimization: Monitor client parts and tooling stores, identifying reduction paths and component consolidations that maximize balance-sheet efficiency.Required Qualifications & Sourcing FiltersEducational Background: Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering (BSME), equivalent technical engineering degree, or applicable experience.Technical Aptitude: Foundational or deep operational understanding of rotating equipment dynamics, fluid systems, mechanical seals, and industrial pumps.Experience Baseline: All seniority tiers considered. We are fully equipped to provide complete structured training to entry-level grads or integrate mid-career engineers into the local framework.
