Job summary

Saylor Consulting Group in San Francisco is seeking a full-time Accounts Payable Accountant to support TJPA CFO and Finance staff in performing various AP tasks.

The position requires in-person work at the Salesforce Transit Center and offers a salary up to $65/hr depending on experience. Duties include processing invoices, expense reports, payments, reconciling accounts, 1099s, and year-end entries. A bachelor’s degree in accounting and 2 years of experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in accounting.
• 2 years of professional accounting experience, preferably governmental/public.
• Substitution options: AA in accounting + years of experience / accounting coursework.
• Knowledge of general, fund and governmental accounting principles; and laws governing public fiscal operations.

Responsibilities

• Process vendor invoices, expense reports, and payroll documents, including complex items.
• Review, classify and code accounting documents for accuracy and compliance with policies.
• Prepare journal entries for accruals, corrections, and year-end adjustments.
• Reconcile bank statements and accounts and assist with periodic closing.
• Prepare 1099 adjustments and respond to 1099 inquiries; file quarterly sales/use tax returns.
