Job summary

Ceco Door, an ASSA ABLOY branded company, is seeking an Accounting Specialist at our Milan, Tennessee facility. This on-site role focuses on AP, general accounting, reconciliations, and financial close, with strong emphasis on internal controls and cross-functional collaboration.

You will research discrepancies, prepare journal entries, and support monthly and annual close activities while maintaining audit-ready records and adherence to U.S. GAAP policies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
• Recent graduates are encouraged to apply.
• One to three years of accounting, accounts payable, general ledger, or related finance experience preferred.
• Relevant internship or professional accounting experience may be considered.
• Working knowledge of accounting principles, account reconciliations, and financial reporting fundamentals.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including formulas, lookups, PivotTables, and spreadsheets used for financial analysis.
• Experience with an ERP system or accounting software preferred.
• Ability to analyze financial data, research discrepancies, identify root causes, and recommend solutions.
• Ability to interpret and apply accounting policies, procedures, and internal control requirements.
• Strong attention to detail, accuracy, organization, and time management.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to explain accounting issues clearly to vendors and internal stakeholders.
• Ability to exercise sound judgment, prioritize assigned work independently, and escalation when needed.

Responsibilities

• Review and process vendor invoices and supporting documentation, identifying coding, approval, purchasing, receiving, or payment exceptions.
• Research invoice and payment discrepancies and coordinate resolutions with vendors, Purchasing, Receiving, and internal stakeholders.
• Review invoice coding and documentation for compliance with accounting policies, authorization requirements, and internal controls.
• Prepare and coordinate weekly payment runs through check, ACH, or wire transfer.
• Reconcile vendor statements and investigate outstanding or aged items.
• Analyze accounts payable aging and payment activity to identify trends, duplicates, exceptions, or potential issues.
• Serve as a resource to vendors and internal stakeholders regarding accounts payable processes and documentation requirements.
• Prepare recurring and routine non-recurring journal entries with appropriate supporting documentation.
• Perform assigned bank, balance sheet, and general ledger reconciliations.
• Research account variances, identify root causes, and recommend adjustments or corrective actions.
• Support monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close activities by managing assigned responsibilities and deadlines.
• Review assigned account activity for unusual transactions, trends, or discrepancies.
• Apply established accounting policies and U.S. GAAP principles to assigned transactions.
• Prepare financial schedules, account analyses, and supporting documentation for reporting, management review, and audits.
• Assist with financial reporting and analysis projects by gathering, validating, analyzing, and summarizing financial information.
• Maintain accurate accounting records and electronic documentation to support audit readiness, record-retention requirements, and internal controls.
• Monitor compliance with established accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
• Identify process improvement opportunities, recommend solutions, and assist with implementing approved changes.
• Build effective working relationships with Finance and cross-functional stakeholders.
• Perform other accounting and administrative duties consistent with the scope and level of the position.
