Job summary

UMGC is seeking adjunct faculty to teach Principles of Accounting on-site at Ft Lee, VA. Position involves connecting theory with practice for adult learners and requires a master’s degree in accounting along with professional experience; online teaching experience is preferred.

Responsibilities include engaging students, guiding project-based learning, providing timely feedback, and collaborating with the program chair on curricular improvements. Salary commensurate with experience.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Accounting or a related field from an accredited institution.
• Professional experience in Accounting or related field.
• Experience teaching adult learners online is strongly preferred.
• Certifications such as CPA, CIA, CISA, or CFE.

Responsibilities

• Actively engage students through frequent interaction that motivates them to succeed, and conveys a genuine energy and enthusiasm for their learning.
• Guide students in active collaboration and the application of their learning in problem- and project-based learning demonstrations.
• Provide rich and regular constructive feedback, utilizing rubrics effectively for the assessment of student work, and acknowledging student accomplishments.
• Demonstrate relevant and current subject‑matter expertise, and help students connect concepts across their academic program.
• Provide feedback to your program chair on possible curricular improvements.
