Job summary

CenCore Group is seeking an Access Control Officer to protect sensitive facilities, assets, personnel, and information on-site in Augusta, GA. You will control access, verify credentials, and operate security systems while maintaining professional customer service for employees, visitors, and vendors. The role requires U.S.

Qualifications

• U.S. citizenship required; must provide a valid U.S. Passport Book or Passport Card.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience as an Access Control Officer or related security role.
• Knowledge of access control procedures and security technologies.
• Ability to stand and conduct screening up to 12 hours with breaks.
• Ability to patrol both indoor and outdoor areas and stairs/ramps.
• Able to enforce procedures independently under pressure.
• Willingness to work varying shifts incl. nights, weekends, holidays.

Responsibilities

• Control access to facilities and restricted information per security protocols.
• Verify identifications, credentials, and clearances for authorized access.
• Operate access control and security technologies.
• Monitor cameras and alarms to deter unauthorized activity.
• Conduct screening for prohibited items at checkpoints.
• Escort visitors and non-cleared personnel in sensitive areas when needed.
• Assist with evacuations and emergency response activities.
• Conduct periodic patrols to verify security barriers and compliance.
• Report security incidents and maintain logs and records.
• Support improvements to access control processes and security measures.
