Job summary

Nominal is hiring a Baremetal Infrastructure Engineer to deploy and manage self-hosted infrastructure for high-scale hardware systems. You will work closely with customers, enabling deployments in restricted environments and improving reliability, observability, and automation.

You’ll operate at the intersection of DevOps, SRE, and customer-facing infrastructure, traveling onsite to support critical implementations and building repeatable deployment capabilities across environments.

Qualifications

Strong Linux systems expertise and experience operating production infrastructure.
Background in DevOps, SRE, Platform/Infrastructure Engineering.
Ability to debug complex systems across multiple layers and work with customers.
Willingness to travel for on-site deployments and customer support.

Responsibilities

Serve as a technical expert for customer-hosted deployments.
Travel on-site to support critical customer implementations.
Troubleshoot Linux, networking, Kubernetes, and infrastructure in production.
Partner with customer IT, infra, and security teams to ensure deployments succeed.
Build and improve deployment tooling, automation, and processes.
Improve reliability, observability, and maintainability of self-hosted infra.
Develop deployment docs, runbooks, and troubleshooting guides.
