Leidos Defense Systems Sector seeks a Manufacturing Quality Engineer to serve as the on‑floor quality focal point, owning process control, inspection, and product acceptance for manufacturing operations in Huntsville, AL. You'll partner with manufacturing, production, and design to ensure work instructions are executable and inspectable, and to resolve nonconformances at the source.

The role includes leading inspection planning, FAI/AS9102, data-driven metrics, and continuous improvement

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related technical discipline; 4+ years in manufacturing quality
• Experience with AS9100/ISO 9001 quality requirements and AS9102 First Article Inspection
• Ability to work on production floor and lead quality improvement initiatives

Responsabilités

• Serve as the quality engineering point of contact for assigned production areas and processes.
• Establish in-process inspection points, acceptance characteristics, and objective evidence requirements.
• Develop and monitor manufacturing processes against specifications (welding, composites, coatings, heat treat, bonding).
• Support process qualification, tooling acceptance, and metrology selection for new work.
• Lead root-cause analysis (8D, 5-Why) and drive Kaizen/Six Sigma improvements.
• Prepare, review, and disposition FAI/AS9102 and support supplier part approvals.
• Support internal and external audits including AS9100 surveillance and customer reviews.
