Job summary

Chan & Chan USA LLC is seeking a FSQA Technician to act as the food safety and quality presence on the production floor. You will monitor critical control points, inspect materials and finished product, perform routine tests, and hold nonconforming product to ensure compliance with USDA FSIS, FDA, and customer audits.

The role requires strong Excel and Word skills, knowledge of GMP and HACCP, and 1–3 years in food QA/QC. Working in a fast-paced plant, you will document records and support audits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1–3 years of quality assurance or quality control experience in food manufacturing preferred.
• Working knowledge of GMP and HACCP.
• Strong Excel and Word skills.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and verify CCPs and preventive controls during production and record results.
• Inspect incoming materials, packaging, and finished product for temp, weight, appearance, labeling, lot codes and dates.
• Verify allergen changeovers and line labels against FSQA-approved versions.
• Perform routine testing (pH, moisture, ATP swabs) and collect environmental/microbiological samples.
• Place product on hold when not meeting standards and document holds/releases.
• Review production and quality records for completeness before release.
• Conduct GMP audits and plant walk-throughs and follow up corrective actions.
• Calibrate thermometers, scales, and metal detectors on schedule.
• Support customer complaint investigations, mock recalls, and USDA/FDA inspections.
• Keep FSQA records organized in electronic and paper form.
