Job summary

Schwartz Farms, Inc. seeks a Maintenance & Repair Technician for Sow Farm to perform general maintenance including plumbing, welding, carpentry, electrical work and machine servicing.

You will support the sow farm facility and assist in the breeding department on weekends as needed. You will be responsible for maintaining and repairing equipment, overseeing safety and bio-security protocols, and coordinating with the manager on parts and projects.

Qualifications

• General mechanical skills including carpentry, welding, electrical, plumbing and concrete experience.
• Ability to multi-task and communicate effectively in farm operations.
• Maintenance experience preferred; weekend work may be required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, repair and rebuild production equipment such as loading chutes, gates and ventilation components.
• Perform general maintenance on plumbing, electrical and HVAC systems.
• Coordinate with manager to obtain parts and supervise ad hoc projects.
• Follow safety and bio-security policies and document activities.
• Respond to emergencies after hours when needed.
• Operate skid loader and perform routine preventive maintenance.
• Monitor filtration and ventilation systems daily.
