Job summary

The Metropolitan Transit Authority of Harris County is seeking a Service Driver to operate Alternate Vehicles and transport passengers on scheduled routes and on-demand services. You will interact with passengers courteously, follow safety procedures, and comply with all rules.

The position requires a high school diploma or GED, at least two years of general work experience including driving and customer service, and a valid driver’s license with at least three years of driving.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Minimum of two years general work experience including driving and customer service.
• Must be at least 21 years old and have a valid driver’s license with at least three years of driving.

Responsibilities

• Drives Alternate Vehicles to transport passengers safely and courteously.
• Adheres to schedules and routes, with changes as needed.
• Adds/removes trips via electronic tablet per dispatch.
• Conducts pre-trip inspections and records defects.
• Reports incidents and maintains safety procedures per DOT/ADA.
• Provides courteous customer service to riders.
