Job summary

Capstone Logistics seeks a Logistics Coordinator to coordinate vendor dispatch, ensuring timely deliveries and supporting the customer service team. The role reports to the Manager and requires clear communication and meticulous record-keeping.

You will utilize dispatch software, share route details, and maintain documentation while upholding Chain of Custody standards. Strong verbal communication and problem-solving abilities are essential, along with MS Word, Outlook, and Excel proficiency.

Qualifications

• Excellent verbal communication and problem solving skills.
• Accurately and quickly able to read maps.

Responsibilities

• Schedule and dispatch vendors or independent contractors to locations per customer requests.
• Communicate data (locations, pickup types, requirements) to vendors at dispatch.
• Input and distribute work orders, PODs, and manifests; prepare reports for management.
• Serve as a contact for vendors in route territories and inform them about traffic and hazards.
• Manage vendor contacts to ensure routes are covered and emergencies are handled.
• Communicate Chain of Custody standards to Capstone Logistics customers.
• Resolve vendor problems or grievances and escalate if needed.
• Evaluate priority of incoming calls and prioritize accordingly.
• Provide support to customer service during peak season.
• Ensure compliance with Independent Contractor Operating Agreement policies.
• Make decisions on delivery methods to meet customers’ service expectations.
• Maintain documentation on job status within dispatch POD and ensure readiness before clearance.
