Job summary

Wichita State University’s TRIO Student Support Services is hiring a part-time student assistant on-site at the Wichita, KS campus. You will participate in peer mentoring trainings, mentor students weekly, and support the development of study and life skills.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, enrollment in at least 6 credit hours, and a 3.0 GPA or better. You must be a current Wichita State University student and commit to serving first-generation, low-income, and students

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Enrolled in at least 6 credit hours at Wichita State University.
• Has a cumulative 3.0 GPA or better.
• Preferred mentoring experience or training.

Responsibilities

• Attend peer mentoring trainings at the start of each semester.
• Provide weekly mentoring to assigned students.
• Assist in developing positive study and life skills.
• Provide regular feedback to the coordinator/academic advisor.
• Complete assessments and time sheets by the due date.
• Contribute to improving the quality of the mentoring process.
• Participate in related activities to meet program goals.
