Job summary

The Lawrenceville School is seeking a Math Specialist to provide individualized in-person academic support for students facing math challenges. The role emphasizes direct, on-campus engagement with students, faculty, and advisors to tailor evidence-based instructional strategies aligned with the school curriculum.

The position runs around 10 hours per week with a flexible schedule including afternoons and evenings.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree (preferably Master’s) in Mathematics, Special Education, or a related field.
• Expertise in math instructional methods and ability to apply them to support learning.
• Experience working with students with learning differences or academic challenges.

Responsibilities

• Provide in-person math instruction to Geometry, Algebra 1/2, Trigonometry, Pre-Calculus.
• Conduct on-campus meetings to assess student needs and progress.
• Develop remedial strategies and targeted interventions to improve math mastery.
• Monitor and report student progress to students, advisors, and director of Educational Support.
• Attend on-campus meetings and training to stay current with best practices.
