Job summary

TCAT Jacksboro, part of the Tennessee Board of Regents system, invites applications for an Industrial Maintenance Technology Instructor. This full-time, on-campus role teaches across the IMT program, guiding students through practical and theoretical training.

The instructor will develop course materials, coordinate with advisory committees, assist with job placement, and stay current with industry practices. Strong electrical, hydraulic, PLC, robotics skills and teaching ability required.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3–5 years of successful work experience in the Industrial Maintenance field.
• Credentials in related field and knowledge of electrical theory, hydraulics, PLCs/Robotics, and industrial instrumentation.
• Must possess strong organizational and communication skills to be an effective teacher.
• Associate degree in related field preferred; certifications in maintenance (AWS, NIMS) are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Teach all phases of Industrial Maintenance Technology and manage rotation of students in mechanical maintenance, hydraulic systems, gearboxes, motor control, PLCs/Robotics, and welding.
• Develop, plan, and prepare a complete progressive course of study, lesson plans, assignments, and instructional aides up to date with industry.
• Establish and meet with program advisory committees.
• Assist with job placement and follow-up of students.
• Remain current in the field by participating in professional development activities.
• Monitor, grade, and evaluate students’ progress.
• Maintain records for CTE students in the Industrial Maintenance program.
• Maintain good public relations and visit businesses/industry.
• Perform other related duties to career and technical education.
