Job summary

Georgetown University on the Hilltop and Capitol campuses seeks a skilled HVAC Mechanic to maintain and repair heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems across university facilities.

The role requires journeyman or master level training with 4–5 years of experience in commercial and residential HVAC, and a preference for universal EPA certification. On-campus work environment in Washington, DC, with comprehensive benefits and on-call responsibilities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Requires 4-5 years’ experience in Commercial, Light commercial and residential HVAC/refrigeration.
• Preference for a Journeyman or Master HVAC license.

Responsibilities

• Perform journeyman level maintenance and repairs in accordance with industry/trade practices.
• Provide daily maintenance support to building users to respond to calls for service, making scheduled preventative maintenance inspections and similar service.
• Perform scheduled preventative maintenance and unscheduled or special work such as overhauls, replacements, surveys and similar projects.
• Use all standard tools, equipment, materials and supplies of the trade and observe all safety rules, regulations and precautions in performing their duties.
