Job summary

Milton Hershey School in Hershey, PA, is hiring married couples to serve as Full-time Flex Houseparents on campus. In this unique role, couples provide care, supervision, and guidance for a group of 8–13 students in on-campus homes, fostering a structured, family-like environment that supports academic, emotional, and social development.

Responsibilities include daily supervision, scheduling, devotions, Chapel, transportation, and budgeting.

Qualifications

• Experience working or volunteering with youth.
• Two-person role for couples married at least two years.
• Both spouses aged 27 or older.
• No more than three dependent children in home.
• Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol while on duty.
• Pet restrictions: fish and one dog of approved breeds.
• Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to become certified to drive student vans.
• Comfort leading daily devotions and Judeo-Christian Sunday Chapel services.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Demonstrated integrity and professionalism; staff serve as role models.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily supervision and mentorship to students.
• Manage household routines and student schedules.
• Administer medications and monitor student wellness.
• Drive students to activities and engage in developmental and recreational planning.
• Lead daily devotions and accompany students to Sunday Chapel.
• Oversee budgeting and household reporting.
