Job summary

Indiana Memorial Union (IMU) within Indiana University Bloomington is seeking a part-time, in-person events assistant under the Office of Student Life. You will help set up rooms and venues for student gatherings and large conferences, and support event operations.

This position requires current enrollment at IU Bloomington, the ability to move equipment weighing up to 50 pounds, and strong communication skills. It offers student employee benefits and a shift pattern that fits a student schedule.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled as a student at Indiana University Bloomington.
• Experience in event management is preferred.
• Physically active position requiring mobility.
• Must be able to move equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Assist in set-up of meeting rooms, banquet rooms, performance halls, classrooms, outdoor venues and other facilities.
• Move event-related equipment including tables, chairs, staging, sound and AV equipment.
• Maintain direct communication with clients to address needs and provide support throughout events.
• Remain in contact with clients to determine needs and address problems or concerns.
