Job summary

The New School in the United States is seeking competent Community Assistants to support the daily operation of residence hall offices during the Fall 2026 - Spring 2027 academic year. This role includes graphic design, social media work, office coverage, and answering questions from students and parents, among other duties.

We require excellent customer service, clear communication, and strong organizational skills.

Qualifications

• Ability to lift packages up to 20 pounds.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Clear communication, including written and verbal.
• Strong organization and attention to detail.
• Ability to complete administrative tasks neatly.

Responsibilities

• Staff the residential office during scheduled shifts.
• Handle administrative tasks, logs, reports, and emails.
• Respond to inquiries from students and parents.
• Conduct residence hall tours during shifts.
• Assist with dorm initiatives and marketing events.
• Maintain confidentiality in all duties.
• Lockouts and keycard encoding as required.
• Provide excellent customer service.
