Job summary

East Carolina University in Greenville, NC, seeks several certified Aquatic Lifeguards for Fall 2026/Spring 2027. This hourly student position positions you on-campus to help maintain the safety of pool patrons and enforce facility rules.

Do you hold Lifeguard, CPR, First Aid, and AED certifications? You must be able to lift 50 lbs and work mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays. Openings: 40; pay: $11.00 per hour; posting 08249; eligibility includes ECU student status and background checks.

Qualifications

• Must be currently certified as a Lifeguard, including CPR, First Aid, and AED.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs.
• Must be available for flexible scheduling, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Previous lifeguard experience preferred.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the safety and security of all patrons in the aquatic facility
• Monitor activities in and around the pool to prevent accidents
• Enforce all facility rules and regulations
• Respond quickly to emergencies and perform lifesaving techniques, including first aid and CPR
• Conduct regular safety checks of pool equipment and facilities
• Assist with pool maintenance and cleaning tasks
• Provide excellent customer service to patrons
• Complete incident and accident reports as needed
• Participate in regular training and in-service sessions to maintain skills and certifications
