Job summary

Dallas College seeks an academic faculty member to teach assigned courses and maintain office hours for student consultation. Responsibilities include delivering clear course objectives, assessing learning, and contributing to curriculum development with colleagues.

Qualified candidates will have a master’s degree or higher with 18 graduate hours in the teaching discipline for credit courses, or a Bachelor’s for developmental/workforce education contexts. Bilingual candidates are preferred.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or higher with at least 18 graduate hours in the teaching discipline for credit courses.
• Workforce education: mix of academic prep and 3 years related work experience.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in the teaching discipline with demonstrated competency.
• Official transcripts required at time of interview.
• Bilingual or multilingual preferred.
• Criminal background check and fingerprint check may apply.

Responsibilities

• Provides students with a written course syllabus and evaluates instructional progress.
• Participates in development and support of discipline by revising curricula and recommending teaching assignments when appropriate.
• Maintains accurate and complete course records; participates in student advising and registration.
• Utilizes technology to facilitate learning, access data, and communicate with others.
• Meets professional obligations and participates in college committees and professional development.
• Commits to college mission and collaborates with diverse communities and groups.
• May work with student clubs and/or organizations; participates in marketing activities.
• Maintains regular and predictable attendance per policy.
