Job summary

American University is seeking an Accommodations Coordinator to coordinate interpreting, note-taking, captioning, and testing accommodations under the Assistant Director. This full-time on-campus role includes hiring, training and scheduling interpreters and note-takers, plus data tracking and reporting for accommodation statistics.

The position requires a bachelor’s degree with some professional experience, excellent communication and organizational skills, and the ability to work with faculty

Qualifications

• Ability to use and learn software programs used in tracking data and managing student information.

Responsibilities

• Administrative: coordinate interpreting, note-taking, alternative text and captioning services; manage payments and expenditures; track statistics and reports.
• Outreach and Consultation: communicate procedures to students and faculty; serve as point of contact for accommodations implementation; collaborate with campus partners.
• Supervision: hire, train, schedule and supervise interpreters and note-takers; ensure notes are uploaded in Canvas.
• Other Duties: perform additional duties as assigned; support front-desk operations as needed.
