This position is part of a collective bargaining unit represented by SEIU Local 500 - Provost & Enrollment Division. That means the terms and conditions of your employment are governed by university policy (including the Staff Personnel Policies Manual) and any collective bargaining agreement entered into between American University and SEIU Local 500 - Provost & Enrollment Division.
The Accommodations Coordinator is primarily responsible for coordinating and implementing interpreting, note-taking, alternative text and document remediation, captioning, and testing services under the supervision of the Assistant Director, Disability Support and Assistive Technology (Assistant Director).
The Coordinator is responsible for hiring, training, and scheduling for interpreting services, captioning, and note-taking services. The Coordinator works closely and collaboratively with the Accommodations Coordinators to implement testing accommodations. The Coordinator provides assistive technology support, as needed. This position manages the logistics of implementing accommodations, collaborates with ASAC staff and campus partners to determine procedures and policies, and communicates the same to the students and faculty who use them.
Under direction of the Assistant Director, oversees the student supervision and payment process for interpreting, captioning and note-taking services and tracks expenditures. This position collects data and reports on accommodation statistics.
