Job summary

The San Francisco Yacht Club is seeking friendly, professional servers to deliver outstanding member and guest service in the dining room and bar. You will provide knowledgeable, warm service and help create memorable dining experiences.

Responsibilities include greeting guests, knowing the menu and wines, timing courses, handling billing accurately, supporting the kitchen, and maintaining a clean, welcoming dining area. A Grade 12 education and 2+ years' experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 education; Two years of server experience preferred; Ability to read, write and perform basic math; Ability to read, speak and understand English.

Responsibilities

• Sets up side station and performs assigned side (prep) work.
• Attends daily pre-shift meetings.
• Provides immediate attention to all members and guests upon seating.
• Distributes food and wine menus; answers questions and suggests menu items.
• Lets members and guests know about any food or drink specials.
• Ensures accurate billing with correct account numbers and names.
• Efficiently serves food and drinks in a friendly and courteous manner.
• Places orders with kitchen; communicates any special instructions.
• Checks to ensure member and guest satisfaction.
• Presents dessert menus and serves dessert, coffee and after-dinner drinks.
