Job summary

The Ponca Tribe of Nebraska is seeking a substitute Transporter to serve on an as-needed basis. The role centers on meeting transportation needs for tribe members and the public, including persons with disabilities.

The transporter will operate vehicles and accessibility equipment, assist passengers, keep vehicles clean, and maintain accurate daily records. Ideal candidates hold a high school diploma or GED, a valid driver's license, and are willing to obtain CPR/First Aid and defensive driving

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license and be insurable.
• Must pass drug/alcohol testing and background checks.

Responsibilities

• Provide transportation for Ponca Tribe of Nebraska members and the public, including persons with disabilities.
• Operate vehicles, wheelchair lifts/securements, and scheduling software as needed.
• Assist passengers to and from the vehicle and maintain a clean, presentable vehicle.
• Maintain monthly records and reports and follow a planned route on schedule.
• Collect fares when applicable and ensure proper record keeping.
• Comply with all transportation laws, policies, and privacy requirements.
