Job summary

The Ponca Tribe of Nebraska is seeking a substitute Transporter to serve tribal members and the public, including persons with disabilities, in a cheerful, professional manner. You will operate vehicles and wheelchair lifts, assist passengers, keep vehicles clean, maintain records, follow routes and schedules, and participate in safety training and drug/alcohol awareness courses.

A valid driver’s license, CPR/First Aid certification, and the ability to travel are required; preference given to

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Must pass drug and alcohol tests and background checks.
• Able to obtain First Aid/CPR within one year.

Responsibilities

• Provide transportation for Ponca Tribe members and the public, including persons with disabilities, in a cheerful, professional manner.
• Operate vehicles and wheelchair lifts/securements, scheduling software and other equipment as necessary.
• Assist passengers to and from the vehicle.
• Maintain a clean and presentable vehicle according to policy.
• Maintain monthly records and reports.
• Follow a planned route according to a time schedule.
• Collect fares and maintain proper records where applicable.
• Abide by transportation laws, regulations and policies.
• Be willing to drive in adverse weather conditions.
• Attend required safety and driving courses.
