Job summary

University of Kentucky Healthcare (UKHC) is seeking a Surgical Tech for the PRN pool in Lexington, KY. The role focuses on passing instruments, maintaining sterile technique, and supporting the surgical team in the operating room.

The position requires a surgical technology program graduate or equivalent certification, with on-call duties and the ability to lift and move equipment as needed. Pre-employment screenings may be required.

Qualifications

• Graduate from a CAAHEP/ABHES accredited surgical technology program or equivalent.
• LPN with 10 years OR tech experience or certification through AAH/NHWA/NCCT acceptable.
• UKHC employee in a Surgical Technician/Technologist role as of 09/17/2016 may qualify.
• User may be required to pass pre-employment screenings.

Responsibilities

• Pass surgical instruments in the operating room and maintain sterile field.
• Assist with case counts and obtain necessary supplies/instruments.
• Set up and maintain a sterile field and assist the circulating nurse as needed.
