Job summary

University of Kentucky seeks a Nursing Care Tech on-call for the Center for Advanced Surgery in Lexington, KY. The role collaborates with Registered Nurses to deliver patient-centered care, including vital signs, phlebotomy, and ADL assistance.

Must meet education and licensure options and maintain AHA BLS CPR certification. Position is on-call with CAS pre-op/PACU coverage, 7am–5pm hours, and requires physical capability to lift up to 100 pounds occasionally.

Qualifications

• Must have High School diploma.
• Be able to lift 50–100 pounds occasionally and 25–50 pounds frequently.
• Have one or more of the following: RN nursing student with first clinical course, KY SRNA, military medic, EMT (ED only), active LPN license, NCT competencies with BLS CPR.

Responsibilities

• Obtain vital signs and perform phlebotomy.
• Provide direct patient care and assist with activities of daily living.
• Respond to patient call lights and support unit orientation.
• Assist with patient admission, transfer and discharge under RN supervision.
