Job summary

AdventHealth is seeking a skilled Surgical Tech to support the operating room team in Louisville. You will anticipate surgeon needs, assemble supplies, and maintain aseptic technique while ensuring patient safety and quality care.

The role requires knowledge of sterile technique, regulatory standards, and teamwork. A High School Diploma and surgical technology-related training are required; some experience is preferred. PRN day-shift position with competitive pay.

Qualifications

• English communication and comprehension required.

• Knowledge of regulatory requirements and laws at various jurisdictions.

Responsibilities

• Anticipates the needs of the surgeon and informs the circulating nurse throughout a procedure.
• Maintains high standards and quality in facilitating cost savings and containment.
• Assembles all necessary supplies, equipment, and medications prior to the procedure.
• Supports customer and employee satisfaction activities; maintains relations with physicians and staff; responds to complaints promptly.
• Monitors aseptic technique and corrects any breaks in technique.
• Identifies and reports environmental concerns and ensures adherence to standards and policies.
• Supervises other team members and assists with orientation, training, and education of new personnel.
• Promotes a safe environment and manages hazards in emergencies.
• Follows infection control practices and PPE usage per policy.
• Participates in practice changes from performance improvement activities and supports quality standards.
• Provides assistance to surgical team as needed.
• Assists with OR turnover times and directs ancillary personnel during turnover.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
