Job summary

Inver Grove Heights Community Schools is seeking a flexible On Call Substitute Licensed School Nurse to support students across district schools, including Hilltop, Salem Hills, Pine Bend Elementary, IGH Middle School and Simley High School.

You will select shifts, receive real-time alerts by text or phone, and provide health counseling, medication administration, and emergency care according to district policies. The district covers equal opportunity employment and inclusivity.

Qualifications

• Current Minnesota license to practice as a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse.
• CPR and AED certified.
• Preferred knowledge of diabetes, seizures, asthma, and anaphylaxis in children.

Responsibilities

• Promote and maintain optimal health and well-being of students, families, and school personnel through health counseling.
• Communicate current health problems, needs, and concerns of students to their parents and appropriate school staff.
• Administer medications and treatments to students per physician's order and parent authorization according to district policies and protocols.
• Maintain daily records regarding health status of students and staff, and utilization of school health service programs.
• Handle any and all medical emergencies that happen during the day per policy.

Enjoy complete control over your schedule—accept as many or as few shifts as you like, with real-time text or phone alerts whenever coverage is needed.

Pay and Benefits:

RN is $33.24/hr or LPN is $25.34/hr.

This role includes Earned Sick and Safe Time (ESST) in accordance with local regulations. Please note that this position is not eligible for additional district-sponsored benefits or paid time off.
