Job summary

Sylvania is seeking a School Nurse - Substitute to provide nursing services for students in the absence of the regular nurse. Location is district-wide and this is a substitute position.

Responsibilities include first aid, administering medications, health records management, and collaboration with parents and staff to support student health and safety.

Qualifications

• Minnesota nursing license preferred.
• CPR and First Aid certification required.
• Experience with children/adolescents preferred.
• Knowledge of common childhood illnesses and injuries.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and in emergencies.
• Flexibility to work at short notice across district locations.

Hours are 7:45 am - 3:15 pm ~ Student contact Days

Pay Scale: Non Licensed: $15/hr. Current LPN licensed nurse: $25/hr. Current RN licensed nurse: $35/hr.

• Communicate with parents, teachers, and administrators regarding student health concerns
• Develop and implement individualized health care plans for students with chronic health conditions
• Assist in the development and implementation of health education programs for students and staff members
• Participate in school health screenings and immunization programs
• Maintain a clean and organized health clinic

Requirements

• Valid nursing license in the state of Minnesota preferred.
• CPR and First Aid certification
• Experience working with children and adolescents preferred
• Knowledge of common childhood illnesses and injuries
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and make sound decisions in emergency situations
• Flexibility to work on short notice and at various locations within the district.
