Job summary

Robbinsdale Area Schools is seeking RN Substitute Nurses to support district-wide student health services on an ongoing basis. The role requires active RN licensure in Minnesota and the ability to assess, plan, intervene and evaluate health needs within school settings.

Your duties include providing first aid, emergency care, medication administration, and related health services, while maintaining medical records and collaborating with school staff. District procedures guide practice.

Qualifications

• Current RN licensure by the MN Board of Nursing.
• PHN certification and/or MN School Nurse licensure preferred.
• Experience or ability to provide direct professional nursing services in a school setting is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Provide assessment, planning, intervention and evaluation of students with acute and chronic health conditions under MN Nurse Practice Act and district procedures.
• Provide direct nursing services including first aid, illness and emergency care, medication administration, g-tube feedings, catheterizations, etc.
• Offer mental health support and refer to appropriate staff or community services as needed.
• Maintain accurate medical records to ensure compliance with state mandates (immunizations, physicals, medical conditions).
• Delegate health cares and supervise health paraprofessionals per nursing judgment and district procedures.
• Support Special Education evaluations (hearing/vision screenings, health assessments).
• Follow state/county guidelines for reporting contagious conditions.
• Other duties as assigned.

Licensure

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) by the MN Board of Nursing.


• Public Health Nurse (PHN) certification and/or MN License School Nurse (LSN) licensure preferred.

Job Duties

• Provide assessment, planning, intervention and evaluation of students with acute and chronic health conditions under the guidelines of the MN Nurse Practice Act and current district procedures.


• Provide direct professional nursing services such as first aid, illness and emergency care, medication administration, g-tube feedings, catheterizations etc.


• Provide mental health support including intervention and/or referral to appropriate school staff or community agencies.


• Participate in maintaining accurate medical records to assure compliance with state mandates including immunizations, physical examinations and medical conditions.


• Delegate appropriate health cares and provide ongoing supervision to health paraprofessionals per nursing judgment, the MN Nurse Practice Act and current district procedures.


• Participate in Special Education evaluations as needed (i.e. hearing and vision screening, health assessments, etc.).


• Follow state and county guidelines for reporting contagious health conditions.


• Other duties as assigned.

Pay Rate

$34.25 - $38.50/hr based on education level and length of assignment, not benefits eligible
