Job summary

Creekside Learning Center - Special Education Services in Port Huron, MI seeks a Behavior Technician for substitute work under supervision of teachers and social workers. You will support students within classrooms and help implement Behavior Intervention Plans and PBIS strategies.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent, CPR/First Aid preferred, CPI training or willingness to obtain it, a valid Michigan driver’s license, and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent. Interested in child development, emotional impairment, psychology.
• CPR and First Aid training preferred.
• CPI training or willingness to obtain CPI and de-escalation training.
• Valid Michigan driver's license.
• Must be physically able to lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Carry out specific behavioral objectives for students.
• Implement proactive and reactive strategies of Behavior Intervention Plans and PBIS.
• Assist in charting and data collection of behaviors.
• Assist students in personal self-help skills.
• Assist in receiving and delivering students to buses.
• Assist in delivering lesson plans and preparing materials for instruction.
