Job summary

Providence Portland Medical Center is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician (On-call, Variable Schedule) to clean, inspect, sterilize, and distribute sterile instrumentation for surgical cases and procedures. You will work with multiple departments to ensure supplies are available and act as a patient safety advocate in a fast-paced hospital environment.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of a sterile processing course or equivalent education/experience.
• 1 year of healthcare experience.
• Within 18 months of hire: National Certified Registered Central Service Technician - Healthcare Sterile Processing Association, or
• Within 18 months of hire: National Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician - Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution
• Experience using personal computer and basic software programs.

Responsibilities

• Clean, inspect, maintain and properly sterilize instrumentation and equipment.
• Distribute sterile supplies for surgical cases and other procedures.
• Collaborate with departments to ensure availability of sterile items.
• Serve as a patient safety advocate in sterile processing.
