Job summary

The Office of Addiction Services and Supports (OASAS) in New York operates hourly positions on an “as needed” basis with no guaranteed schedule. You will work under supervision as a journey-level skilled maintenance worker, performing a range of skilled and semiskilled tasks to meet maintenance program requirements in line with federal/state regulations.

Responsibilities include planning projects, electrical and plumbing tasks, carpentry and masonry, HVAC and fire-system maintenance, and

Qualifications

Four years of full-time experience in a trade providing training equivalent to a formal program.
Preferred: skilled in one or more trades; able to read and understand instructions clearly.
Preferred: valid NYS driver's license; basic computer literacy.

Responsibilities

Plan and lay out construction, repair and maintenance projects.
Perform skilled and semiskilled maintenance, repair, installation tasks in mechanical, building, and electrical trades.
Electrical and plumbing maintenance including circuits, lighting, wiring, piping, and fixtures.
General carpentry and masonry work; painting and spackling.
Inspect and maintain HVAC and fire suppression systems; operate emergency generator.
Coordinate with OGS and OASAS for major repairs and renovations; supervise outside contractors.
