Job summary

Henry County Schools is seeking a Site Maintenance Mechanic to support the Operations/Facilities & Maintenance division. The role reports to the Maintenance Foreman and offers a non-exempt status with a salary schedule of M1–M4.

The position involves maintaining department vehicles, following schedules, completing work orders, and ensuring safety and compliance across tasks and emergencies. The candidate should have a high school diploma or HSE, a valid Class C license, and experience with

Qualifications

High School Diploma or HSE is required.
Valid Class C driver’s license is required.
Experience maintaining and repairing automotive engines, including diesels.
ASE certification is preferred.
Ability to pass annual physical.
On-call 24/7 availability for emergencies.
Must adhere to Georgia Professional Standards Code of Ethics for Educators.

Responsibilities

Perform maintenance duties, jobs, tasks, functions, and responsibilities as assigned by work orders or directed by supervisors to maintain Facilities & Maintenance Department vehicles.
Follow work schedules as assigned by supervisors to maintain maintenance vehicles, including off-hour emergency maintenance situations.
Complete all work orders as assigned in a timely, effective, and efficient manner.
Maintain, care for, and keep up with all assigned equipment, materials, and supplies necessary to fulfill duties and responsibilities.
Adhere to all safety rules and regulations; follow all equipment, material, and product use directions.
Adhere to all school system personnel rules and regulations.
Maintain accurate records and reports, such as repair records and inspection reports.
Participate in training and staff development activities as may be required by the school system or state and federal regulations.
Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
