Job summary

Cartersville City Schools is seeking a General Maintenance Technician. Electrical experience preferred. Classified position, 240 days, pay grade M7-Craftsman I, with hourly rate based on relevant work experience. Licensure/certification considered for pay grade.

General maintenance work under the direction of the Maintenance Supervisor; assists technicians and subcontractors; maintains records and tools; on-call 24/7; adheres to district policies and demonstrates professionalism and punctuality.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with relevant training and/or experience.
• Holds a valid Georgia motor vehicle operator's license.
• Good oral, written and interpersonal communication skills

Responsibilities

• Assists other technicians and sub-contractors as needed.
• Assists in estimating labor and material costs associated with repairs or replacement projects
• Completes and maintains all required paperwork; maintains and submits accurate and complete records of all work orders.
• Maintains all tools related to the position.
• Accepts full responsibility for maintaining and operating a system vehicle, if provided.
• Is accessible and considered to be on-call 24 hours per day, 7 days per week.
• Adheres to all School Board policies and procedures and demonstrates professional and ethical practices in carrying out the duties and responsibilities of the job.
• Complies with any reasonable oral or written request of the Maintenance Supervisor, his/her designee, or other appropriate district administrator.
• Demonstrates excellent attendance and punctuality.
