Job summary

American Cruise Lines in New Orleans, LA seeks a Fleet Maintenance Technician to support the engineering and technical operations of ACL's US-Flag cruise ships. The technician collaborates with Port and Fleet engineers for maintenance, repair, and regulatory compliance to keep vessels on schedule.

The role involves on-call repairs, on-site troubleshooting, frequent ship visits, and guidance to shipboard engineers while adhering to USCG, USPH, FDA, EPA regulations; relocation may be required

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• High school diploma or equivalent, or equivalent related experience.
• Valid driver’s license and TWIC.

Responsibilities

• Assist and support Fleet Engineer and Assistant Port Engineer.
• Identify and troubleshoot technical vessel problems, providing fast solutions to minimize downtime.
• Fix equipment and help troubleshoot maintenance requests.
• Be on scene and on call for repairs.
• Coordinate and ensure projects and repairs are completed.
• Visit ships frequently.
• Provide technical information and guidance to shipboard Engineers as directed by Port Engineers.
• Be familiar with USCG, USPH, FDA, EPA, and other federal regulations.
