Job summary

American Cruise Lines is seeking a Fleet Maintenance Technician for the Central Region, based in Louisville, KY. The role supports engineering operations across the ACL fleet, troubleshoots vessel systems, and ensures timely repairs to keep ships on schedule.

The technician will assist Port and Fleet engineers, work with diesel and gas engines, and coordinate maintenance projects. A valid driver’s license, TWIC, and high school diploma are required.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• High school diploma or equivalent or equivalent related experience.

Responsibilities

• Assists and supports Fleet Engineer and Assistant Port Engineer.
• Identifies and troubleshoots technical vessel problems and provides fast solutions to minimize downtime.
• Fixes equipment and helps troubleshoot maintenance requests.
• On scene and on call for repairs.
• Coordinates and ensures projects and repairs are completed.
• Visits ships frequently.
• Provides technical information and guidance to shipboard Engineers as directed by Port Engineers.
• Familiar with USCG, USPH, FDA, EPA, and other federal regulations.
• Assists with Water Management Plan and water quality.
• Performs other duties as directed.
