Job summary

American Cruise Lines in Baton Rouge, LA, seeks a Fleet Maintenance Technician to support the engineering and technical operations of ACL’s US-Flag cruise ships. The role maintains, repairs, and ensures regulatory compliance of certificated vessels, working with regional Port and Fleet engineers to keep ships on schedule.

You will be on scene for repairs, troubleshoot equipment, and visit ships frequently. Requirements: 18+, high school diploma or equivalent, diesel and gas engine knowledge,

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• High school diploma or equivalent or related experience.
• Familiar with vessel maintenance and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

• Assists and supports Fleet Engineer and Assistant Port Engineer.
• Identifies and troubleshoots technical vessel problems and provides fast solutions to minimize downtime.
• Fixes equipment and helps troubleshoot maintenance requests.
• On scene and on call for repairs.
• Coordinates and ensures projects and repairs are completed.
• Visits ships frequently.
• Provides technical information and guidance to shipboard Engineers as directed by Port Engineers.
• Familiar with USCG, USPH, FDA, EPA, and other federal regulations.
• Assists with Water Management Plan and water quality.
