Job summary

Elizabethtown Community Housing is seeking an On-Call Shelter Assistant to support shelter operations across morning, evening, and overnight shifts. You will assist with guest intake, departures, safety checks, and volunteer coordination to maintain a safe, respectful environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; college experience in social services preferred.
• Excellent communication and collaboration with diverse populations.
• Familiarity with homelessness issues and community resources.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and case management software; HMIS experience helpful.

Responsibilities

• Assist with guest intake and departures across shifts.
• Monitor safety and maintain a clean, calm shelter environment.
• Support volunteers and coordinate meal service and engagement.
• Document interactions and incidents in HMIS; report maintenance needs.
