Job summary

Rochambeau, The French International School of Washington, DC in Bethesda, MD seeks a School Nurse (RN) Substitute for the 2026-2027 school year. This on-call, intermittent role supports health-office operations and student care when the regular nurse is unavailable.

Responsibilities include first aid, medication administration, IHCP/IECP management, immunization records, and collaboration with staff, families, and physicians. Maryland RN license and BLS/CPR required.

Qualifications

• Must hold a Maryland RN license.
• Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS)/CPR/First Aid Certification.
• Knowledge of managing common childhood illnesses and chronic diseases.
• Strong communication and time-management skills; ability to maintain confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Provide first aid and emergency care for students and staff.
• Administer prescribed and OTC medications per policy.
• Manage IHCPs and IECPs and chronic conditions (asthma, diabetes, seizures, allergies).
• Maintain accurate immunization records and document health encounters in the EHR.
• Communicate clearly with students, staff, parents, and visitors.
• Support Rochambeau's mission and collaborate with the school community.
