Job summary

The Waterford School seeks a Substitute School Nurse to provide health care support to students PK3–12 when the school nurse is absent. This on-call, part-time temporary position involves responding to illnesses and injuries, administering medications per procedures, and helping students return to learning.

Qualifications

• CPR certification and First Aid certification required.
• Experience with children/adolescents in healthcare settings preferred.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality of student health information.
• Strong communication and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Assess and respond to student illnesses, injuries, and health concerns during the school day.
• Provide first aid and determine when a student needs additional medical care.
• Administer medications and follow individual student health plans in accordance with school procedures.
• Respond to medical emergencies, including activating emergency services when appropriate.
• Document care provided and communicate relevant information to parents or guardians and school staff.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and properly stocked health office.
• Provide a calm, welcoming environment for students of all ages.
