Job summary

Edina Public Schools is seeking a Custodian Substitute (On-Call) to support facilities district-wide, performing general cleaning to provide a safe, clean learning environment for students, faculty and staff. The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, a boiler license is preferred or the ability to obtain one, and a mechanical aptitude for repairs.

Prior custodian experience is preferred but not required; training will be provided, and the position offers non-exempt status with

• Mechanical aptitude for performing and learning repair work
• Custodian experience preferred, but not required. Training will be provided.
• Ability to effectively communicate with students, employees, and visitors.
• Ability to effectively collaborate with employees.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.

Responsibilities

• The Custodian Substitute supports the school district by performing general cleaning within assigned areas, hallways, restrooms, gyms and school areas in accordance with cleaning schedules and work assignments to provide a safe, clean learning environment for students, faculty and staff.
• Works to maintain a clean, safe and welcoming school environment consistent with district standards and program needs.
• Performs other duties as assigned by custodial supervisor to support school facilities.
