Job summary

Peabody Public Schools is seeking on-call food service substitutes for 3-hour shifts (approximately 10 am to 1:30 pm). The position pays $20.00 per hour and requires a HS diploma or GED, a positive team player attitude, and a background check with proof of eligibility to work in the U.S.

Bilingualism is highly desired but not required. Substitutes fill in for absent staff, with day-to-day assignments and reassignments as needed.

Qualifications

• Requires a High School Diploma or GED and ability to work with a team.
• Demonstrated aptitude or competence for assigned responsibilities as a substitute worker.
• Criminal history background check and proof of U.S. citizenship or legal alien status required.

Responsibilities

• Performs tasks in food preparation and serving and maintains sanitary operation of the food service facility.
• Operates equipment such as mixers, peelers, slicers, dishwashers, and toasters.
• Cleans tables and kitchen equipment; washes dishes and stores supplies.
• Maintains counters, floors and refrigerators; stores foods properly in storerooms.
